36 days of type

36 Days of Type is a yearly project where designers, graphic artists, illustrators and everyone in between create and share their own interpretation of the letters of the Latin alphabet for 36 consecutive days.

INTERPRETATION

I had a vague idea of what I wanted to create for my submission for the 36 Days of Type. I started with some sketches of the letters I had in my mind. Once I digitalized it, I took elements from the original sketch but ultimately it took on something totally different. I took what I designed and turned it into a high-contrast serif font with geometric elements which I named “Solitude.” Once I had the capital letters and numbers drawn out, I took them back into Illustrator and decided to customize them even more. Although I was very pleased with how the font came out, I wanted to create something a little more wacky for the project.
