WORLD’S LARGEST TREE CRUSHER:
AN ODE TO MACKENZIE BC

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This personal project is a tribute to my birthplace, Mackenzie, British Columbia. A northern BC town where I spent many summers growing up. My family continues to have strong ties to this little town, and it’s a place that I have very fond memories of as a kid. Inspired by this unique landmark and an old t-shirt, I created a design featuring a hand-drawn illustration of “The Worlds Largest Tree Crusher”.

This project celebrates both Mackenzie’s history and my personal connection to the town.

STRATEGY & DESIGN

This project felt like a natural starting point, as Mackenzie holds a special place in my heart. By illustrating the World’s Largest Tree Crusher and pairing it with custom lettering, I aimed to create a design that resonates with the town’s history while showcasing my connection to it. The goal is to develop pieces like this for potential collaborations with cities, towns, or parks in BC tourism.

REFLECTIONS

This project allowed me to merge something personal and close to my heart with design, celebrating Mackenzie’s history in a meaningful way. The hand-drawn illustration and lettering of the World’s Largest Tree Crusher has potential uses in various formats, such as t-shirts, stickers, or tourism merchandise, serving as both a tribute to the town and a tool to attract visitors.
